23.4% of young people aged 15–29 in Georgia were NEET in 2025 — down sharply since 2020, but still more than double the EU rate.

  • Georgia's NEET rate fell by 11.7 percentage points, from 35.1% in 2020 to 23.4% in 2025 — a much faster fall than in the EU (13.8% to 11.0%).
  • The gap with the EU narrowed from 21.3 to 12.4 points, but Georgia's rate is still 2.1 times the EU average.

Young women are more likely to be NEET than young men: 26.1% against 21.0% in 2025. Both rates have fallen since 2020.

About these comparisons

Figures are official national statistics — Geostat (Georgia), Armstat (Armenia), the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan — and Eurostat for the EU-27, using the latest published period. Georgia (since 2020, with 2010–2019 recalculated) and Armenia (since 2018) apply the 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians standard, under which subsistence food producers are not counted as employed. Azerbaijan's national methodology may differ. Indicators are compared only where comparable official data exist. Data checked October 2026.
