GILS does not accept commissions from governments, employers, trade unions, or political parties. Our research agenda is set internally, based on public interest and evidence gaps — not on what a funder wants to hear.
Every GILS output — data tools, law analyses, indices, research papers — is freely and permanently available to anyone. We will not license exclusive access to any output to any organisation.
We source every data point to Geostat, ILOSTAT, ILO databases, or peer-reviewed research. Where we estimate or model, we document our methodology. Where we are uncertain, we say so. We do not publish confident claims on thin evidence.
When GILS makes a mistake, we correct it publicly with a dated correction notice. We do not silently update published material. Credibility is our only institutional asset — we protect it by admitting error, not concealing it.
