What Georgia Is Missing

No Functional Minimum Wage

GEL 20/month since 1999. A legislative reform to GEL 700–900/month is expected in 2025 under DWCP and EU candidacy commitments. This is the single most impactful labour law reform available.

No Pay Transparency Law

No employer reporting obligation on gender pay gaps. Required under EU Equal Pay Directive (2023) for EU accession. Expected by 2026. Would be the first of its kind in the South Caucasus.

No Workplace Violence Law

ILO C190 (Violence and Harassment at Work, 2019) is not ratified. No specific workplace harassment legislation. GTUC has requested ratification since 2021. EU candidacy Chapter 19 discussions include this.
